Thank you for your request, which was received on 14 January, for the following information:
“Can you tell me how many people within the constituency of Chipping Barnet have been
sent letters from HMRC regarding so called "disguised remuneration"? In other words, how
many people in Chipping Barnet have been contacted by HMRC with regards to the 2019
Loan Charge? How many people will the 2019 Loan Charge affect within Chipping Barnet?”
HMRC is actively encouraging Disguised Remuneration (DR) scheme users impacted by the
charge on DR loans to come forward and settle their tax affairs with us before the charge on
DR loans arises on the 5th April 2019. We have written to over 40,000 DR scheme users.
A geographical breakdown of where these letters were sent is available on GOV.UK
If you are not satisfied with this reply you may request a review within two months by
emailing foi.review@hmrc.gsi.gov.uk, or by writing to the address at the top right-hand side
of this letter.
